Jazz band OK:KO threw a party for Distant Friendships.
In April 2017 OK:KO were on their first album release tour. Whilst driving and listening to Moomin records in the sleet somewhere in the Northern Ostrobothnia they took note of a similar tones between a Japanese composer Sumio Shiratori and their own music.
OK:KO played a unique one off concert with re-scored tunes from the Moomins amongst others, sat amongst the waveform earth work and in the shadow of the bronze sculpture.

Haikeat ja luonnonläheiset sävellykset tuovat mieleen kilometrien päässä olevat kaukaiset ystävät. "
Drummer Okko Saastamoinen founded OK:KO by asking some of Finlands most unique and reknown young jazz musicians to join him. The thread of the ensemble is in trust, improvisation and use of the space. AMP Music & Records, a record label based in Norway spotted OK:KO at the Oslo Jazz Festival in 2016 and published the debut album Land E. in January 2017. OK:KO has performed at the main stage of Pori Jazz festival, Raahen rantajatsit, April Jazz, Haapavesi Folk Music festival and clubs in Helsinki.

OK:KO on rumpali Okko Saastamoisen kasaama kollektiivi, jossa soittaa nuoren sukupolven arvostetuimpia jazzmuusikoita. Punaisena lankana toimii luottamus, tilan käyttö ja improvisointi. Norjalainen levy-yhtiö AMP Music & Records bongasi yhtyeen elokuussa 2016 Oslo Jazz Festivaaleilla, ja julkaisi bändin debyyttialbumin Land E. tammikuussa 2017. OK:KO on keikkaillut muun muassa Pori Jazzeilla, Raahen Rantajatseilla, April Jazzeilla, Haapavesi Folk Music Festivaaleilla ja pääkaupunkiseudulla useilla eri klubeilla.

The Daughter of the Baltic (Maila Talvio Memorial) - Laila Pullinen
Unveiled on the 100th anniversary of Maila Talvio´s birth on the 17th of October 1971, The Daughter of the Baltic' is a memorial to the author Talvio (1871-1951), a prominent figure in Finland's cultural life. The work is named after Talvio's historical novel on the city of Helsinki. The bronze memorial is placed in the former location of professor J.J. Mikkola's and Maila Talvio's home. As its arching outer surface progresses inwards its smoothness meets coarse folds. Although the upper part of the sculpture is reminiscent of the headgear worn by Ancient Egypt's rulers, the form can only be recognized on the side where the surface is smooth. In 1992, the memorial was completed with a wavy earth relief called The Baltic Sea made of soil and grass designed by Laila Pullinen. Together with the sculpture, the undulating earthen ridges form a work of environmental art in which the twisting and upright sculpture enters into a dialogue with the grass covered ridges.

Itämeren tytär / Maila Talvion muistomerkki - Laila Pullinen
Itämeren tytär on muistomerkki kirjailija ja kulttuurivaikuttaja Maila Talviolle (1871-1951). Se on paljastettu vuonna Talvion syntymän 100-vuotispäivänä 17.10.1971. Pronssiveistos on nimetty Talvion Helsingin vaiheita kuvaavan historiallisen romaanin mukaan. Muistomerkki pystytettiin paikalle, jossa aikoinaan sijaitsi professori J.J.Mikkolan ja Maila Talvion koti.Veistoksen kaarevan ulkopinnan sileys kohtaa kaartuessaan sisäänpäin karkean poimutuksen. Veistoksen yläosa muistuttaa muinaisten egyptiläisten hallitsijoiden päähinettä, mutta muoto on tunnistettavissa vain sileän pinnan puolelta. Pronssiseen muistomerkin yhteyteen toteutettiin vuonna 1992 Laila Pullisen suunnittelema Itämeri-maataideteos aaltoilevine harjanteineen. Yhdessä ne muodostavat ympäristötaideteoksen.
